Occupational Therapy

Well after 4 weeks off, Truitt went back to occupational therapy at Children's yesterday. We are still trying to work out Cobra for insurance...but Children's only gives you 4 weeks off at a time beforfe they give up your spot. So we had to go. If any of you are familiar with therapies through Children's, it takes a while to find a spot. We don't need to waste any more time on that. Plus, I love our therapists so much and don't want to lose them either.

Truitt's therapist Pam was very pleased with how he is doing. She think he has definitely made progress over the past month since she saw him last. She was saying how sometimes when babies have as many seizures as he was having per day, they sometimes regress and lose skills. This doesn't surprise me at all because Truitt never wanted to do anything during the time filled with seizures, he just wanted to be held and comforted. Pam pointed out that not only does she think he didn't lose any skills, but he gained some! She also said she notices a lot of cognitive improvement, we have too.

Truitt did great while at therapy, he didn't cry once. Pam and I were saying that it was maybe a blessing in disguise not going these past few weeks, because Truitt was getting to be worthless. He used to cry the whole we there and had lots of seizures, so it was nice to see him feeling better and enjoying himself again. I was also glad to get back into the swing of things, because it just eases my mind knowing he is getting what he needs to help with his development. I still don't like going, and often times get upset we even have to deal with these things, but I pick up my boot straps and do it because this battle is far from over. But Truitt will win. I will be sure of it.
