Joe Cool...

Truitt has been battling us for weeks with tucking in his thumbs. Each time we pull them out, he tucks them right back in. The physical therapist told us that many NICU babies do this because they don't feel secure. They tuck in their thumbs and hold onto them to feel a sense of security. It was so hard to hear this news, because all babies should feel secure and loved.

The therapist gave Truitt some "Joe Cools" which are wrist braces that pull out his thumbs. It was so funny how all the nurses called them "Joe Cools." It still brings a smile to my face just saying it. Oh how I miss those lovely nurses, we had such a good time with them. I took a few pictures of Truitt with his Joe Cools on but he didn't want to look at the camera, here's our little Joe Cool!
